It’s too bad because some of the articles are pretty decent. The kinja comment system just fucked up any possibility to have an intelligent conversation as it favors some comments over others.

That and the fact that I’m often greyed out because, you know, a 6 or 7 year old account isn’t credible enough I guess, but a burner with a spam message? Why don’t you go right on through!

At least the Kinja system’s model of authorship has its benefits when some twat decides to apeshit on you and the Dismiss function is highly needed. Once had a guy harass me all the way back to posts I made weeks before and eventually got him banned. I definitely have an enemy sitting on the FP now.

While they succeeded in getting more pageviews, and attracted a lot of outside people, they lost the sense of community and maturity that made the site so special. It’s a shame.
